HOTEL OLD MILL ****
OLD MILL HISTORY
Small chronicle of the old mill in Siegmar
The foundations of the vaulted cellar are from the 16th century. The vaulted cellar was used as a pantry. The "old building" is from the year 1832. The "new building" dates from 1905. However, this was completely demolished and rebuilt in 1995 again. Previously, the mill was powered by water power. The mill wheel stood in the entrance area between old and new building. For this purpose, the Kappelbach was redirected over the bike path lying above the mill today.
Under the house next door, he was led through a canal back into the old stream bed. In the early days of the mill, grain was ground. In the late eighteenth century, until the cessation of mill operations in 1925, hydropower was used for looms for making hosiery. Until the year 2000, the house was run by the then owner. In July 2000, the family Degenhardt took over the house and continues to manage it successfully today.
We wish you pleasant hours in the walls of the Old Mill. The team of the old mill and your family Degenhardt
